The Incredible Abandoned Civil War Lieutenants Family Mansion Left Forgotten Down South *Built 1850
This stunning old vine draped house was built shortly before the civil war around 1850 for a man who would later serve in the civil war as a lieutenant. He would survive the civil war and have multiple children who would also serve in the military. The home features a raised English basement as well as hand carved mantles in almost every room of the home. A large staircase runs up the center of the house with nearly 3 stories and 4 large spacious rooms on each floor as well as a main central hallway. The home has sat crumbling away and empty for decades now in its copse of Pine trees and vines slowly encroaching on the old rotten wooden siding and the front porch nearly swallowed whole by it.
