Over the past few years Jacob Collier has been experimenting with what he calls the 'Audience Choir', where he uses his audiences like an instrument, conducting live improvisations. They initially started quite simple, but he's been continuously expanding their scope, most recently including full chromatic modulations and cluster chords. It really is ingenious, and in this video I break down exactly how it works.
