The IS-2 heavy tank was a vehicle borne out of one of the bloodiest and tank-heavy conflicts to ever occur. Learning lessons from Barbarossa, Kursk, and countless other huge engagements, the Soviets worked in an attempt to overhaul the aging KV-1.
