The Jamestown Starving Time of 1609-10

Many myths and misunderstandings surround "the starving time" in Jamestown that lasted from the winter of 1609 in to spring of 1610. Although there were many times when the European colonists in Virginia did not have proper supplies of food, "the starving time" is the most infamous.
