In remembrance of Jeff, we asked Jim Keltner to share a few words to honor Jeff’s life and legacy: "Early on, Jeffrey and I would talk about drummers a lot. He enjoyed analyzing a part that someone played, and what it did for the song. That's why I always loved turning him onto stuff that I would hear that would knock me out. Later, when I came to the realization that we drummers play who we are inside, not just what our credentials say about us, I realized what a tremendous blessing it was to have a young Jeff Porcaro enter my life and become every bit the inspiration to me, as he always said I was to him. His gifts as a player have been obviously very well documented, and so as you study and appreciate the beauty in his playing, know that is exactly what he was like as a person." - Jim Keltner⠀
