Destiny sent Dr Kalpalatha Guntupalli from Hyderabad to USA in early 1970s and she went on to become a highly respected clinician contributing not just to her hospital or college but to society at large in several small and big ways, across countries and continents.
Recognising this spirit of service in her, in 2012 the President of India awarded her with the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award'. This happened just a year after she came into Bhagawan's fold. So for her this is nothing but simply His boundless grace.
Though she has been the first woman President of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin as well as the first international woman President of the American College of Chest Physicians, for her the most cherished honour is the prized relationship she has with Swami now. "He is my friend, He has my back, my life could not have been more blessed," she says now with deep satisfaction and contentment exuding from her being.
On this Independence Day, SSSMC is glad to share the journey of this devoted woman who has made Bharat proud and continues to dedicate herself to the Divine Mission.
