From ancient bone hoards to footprints in gypsum dune fields and permafrost tree remains, researchers find many traces of skilled human hunters – and their prey: mammoths, cave bears and giant sloths. Is it feasible that our ancestors brought these giants to extinction, or was it the rapidly changing climate?
