In 1970, Disney announced that five resorts would be coming to the Magic Kingdom monorail loop including the Contemporary, Polynesian, Venetian, Persian, and Asian resorts. These resorts would have been highly themed, each offering unique entertainment experiences. But, three of them never ended up getting built.
