In this video we re visit Manchester's lost river Cornbrook. This underground river urbex journey takes us on a historical tour of Manchester's past history. The route takes us past the old Hulme barracks. Hulme barracks has a place in history as its from here that the 15th Hussars were sent in to The Peterloo massacre to control the violence and ended up slaughtering women and children. As well as looking at old photos of Manchester Hulme and Moss side we also look at the iconic photograph of Ena Sharples from Coronation street stood on a balcony overlooking Manchester. We go to Clifford court where the photo was taken and look at what is left of the area since the Manchester slum clearances.
