Anyone who has served in the military or has been a first responder knows the challenges and unique lifestyle that comes with the commitment. Something that disrespects the brave men and women who put their lives on the front line for our country and community are those who falsely claim service. Usually, people that make stolen valor claims do it in the safety of a dive bar or at a private party. Jeremy Dewitte on the other hand has created a whole entire company around falsely representing himself as law enforcement.
Jeremy's stolen valor career is quite extensive. He claims that he served as a U.S. Army Ranger, Special Forces Major, and that he was medically discharged after his parachute malfunctioned when jumping into Fallujah. He also claims that he was a police officer. The reality is that he was briefly a police explorer in Florida. He tried to use his badge to get some free gas and was arrested and booted from the program for falsely representing himself as a police officer. Most people would take their lumps and learn from the experience right? Not Jeremy. He created his masterpiece of Stolen Valor called Metro State. What this company specializes in is, conducting "high-risk" funeral escorts. What this actually means is he and his crew drive around Florida pretending to be police officers and pull people over to make sure that his funeral escort owns the road.
Jeremy did have a good run. Based on looking at different sources for financials, Jeremy was making north of $800,000 a year. This only added fuel to the ego fire that was motor one. Even with all of the opportunities and second chances, Jeremy has been arrested dozens of times and is preparing to spend the next 7 years in jail. Only time will tell if we have seen the end of the most notorious stolen valor case that is Jeremy Dewitte.
