The Move performed two songs, Ella James and this one, The Words of Aaron, for the November 30, 1971 edition of The Old Grey Whistle Test. While the full episode was wiped by the BBC, the Move clips survive as inserts.

The Move underwent several lineup changes throughout their career. The original lineup included Roy Wood, Bev Bevan, Carl Wayne, Trevor Burton, and Ace Kefford.
By the early 1970s, the lineup had shifted significantly. The later version of The Move featured Roy Wood, Bev Bevan, and Jeff Lynne, who joined in 1970. This trio was instrumental in the formation of the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), which began as a side project before becoming their primary focus. The Move officially disbanded in 1972 as ELO gained popularity.
Bill Hunt, who is also in the clip, joined The Move in 1971. He was part of the band during its later phase. He was also a part of early ELO. After The Move, he continued to work with Roy Wood in Wizzard.
Maybe the years have told you
Do you remember when life was just a new day?
You know the story don't you?
The one they told you when life was slipping away
Aah! look at the brand new day
Sitting here upon the milky way
Aah! look at the dancing girls
Sitting holding hands across the world
You got a brand new lady
Just like the one you left down in some other place
Reading all the letters
Saw your face coming through on the ouija board
Aah! look at the brand new day
Sitting here upon the milky way
Aah! look at the dancing girls
Sitting holding hands across the world
You heard the words of aaron
He spoke the truth in these things both great and small
You can throw away the ashes
You sweep them over the world on your own accord
Did you know the real answer?
You'd see the kind of mistakes that you can't afford
