Today I’m heading back to Montmartre- one of my very favourite areas of Paris for a little early morning walk through some of the prettiest streets in the city.
Starting of at The Sacre-Coeur Basilica, I wander in search of the famous statue of Saint-Denis, the Patron Saint of France, who beheaded for his faith by the Roman’s but whom (so legend says) picked up his severed head and walked four miles to the place where he eventually died and was buried!
Along the way we see the last vineyard in Paris, ‘Dalida’, the beautiful but tragic French icon, and visit the beautiful Museum of Montmartre; former home to painters Maurice Utrillo and Claude Augustus Renoir amongst others.
