The Bennington Triangle is a term coined by paranormal author Joseph A. Citro to denote an area in southwestern Vermont where several people mysteriously disappeared between 1920 and 1950. The vertices of the triangle are often considered to be the towns of Bennington, Woodford, and Somerset. The most famous disappearances include those of Middie Rivers, Paula Welden, Charles Kenney, James Tedford, and Paul Jepson. These unsolved cases have led to numerous theories ranging from natural explanations like animal attacks and harsh weather to more speculative ideas involving paranormal activity, UFOs, or even serial killers. The area is also associated with strange sightings, including Bigfoot-like creatures and unexplained lights.
