Happy 2024 everyone! This California Zephyr #5 made its station stop in Fort Morgan at 0506 MST (4 min late but on time). P42s #188 & #169 brought the 8-car consist to its first stop with car 2 to the station platform for 1 passenger departing and 7 new patrons boarding. Then the train was moved forward to bring car 7 to the same platform area for 3 departing passengers and 1new fare. With the station work safely completed, the high ball was given and on a clear signal the brakes were released, and the amps were ramped up to the traction motors moving the Zephyr west toward Union Station in Denver.
