Video Not Working? Fix It Now

A short informative video about the archaic cut of a closed, tunic-shaped, oblique apron.

Reconstruction of a variant of the sarafan complex of the costume of a Russian resident of the 10th-12th centuries is based on the location of decorations and decorations of the costume in the Upper Volga burials, on analogies with Finnish and Battle women's costumes of that time, as well as on the experience of ethnography.

I had a task to sew a woolen apron close to the archaic things of the 10th-12th centuries.

Analyzing the main features of the cut of such aprons, a thing was created, the step-by-step sewing of which can be seen in this video.

The choice of red wool, as a rather expensive fabric of that time, and trimming with braid based on a find from the Ladoga Kurgans of the 10-12th centuries, makes this thing festive, and possibly even wedding for a resident of Medieval Russia.

The costume is complemented by a dress with an assembly at the collar, a warm cape, a set of jewelry and amulets, as well as several variants of Slavic headdresses with temporal rings (my work).
