IELTS Writing Task 2 is the second part of the writing test, where you are presented with a point of view, argument, or problem and asked to write an essay in response. Your essay should be in a formal style, at least 250 words, and you should aim to complete it in under 40 minutes.
In this video, you will learn a simple strategy that helped one of our students improve her score from Band 6.5 to Band 8. By fixing basic mistakes and focusing on planning, writing, and checking, she wrote essays that examiners look for. We’ll show you her first essay, the changes she made, and the final essay that scored Band 8.
