Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” is considered by many scholars to be the first work of science fiction. The novel weaves morality with scientific experimentation as Victor Frankenstein, successfully reanimates a being. The novel was truly revolutionary for its time. But, was it really the first work of science fiction? Of course, it is considered to be so… However, many have argued that there are other precursors to the genre.
