The team aboard a special vehicle to reach the inhabitants of Nenets nomads. Once you get through the Ob River, a series of Chum, which are traditional houses of Nenets, lie along the snow land. The Nenets family is open to any guests that visit their house. Because accidents and distressful situations might happen, it's their tradition to greet strangers. That's why the team could spend a warm night watching the aurora.
In Nenets language, Yamal means the 'end of the Earth'. They come from the Siberian region and have settled a nomadic life here for more than 1,000 years. Their morning begins with Yorklawa, or the sorting process of the reindeer. The team spends a great day prepping the firewoods and getting drinking water from the frozen lake. And even a little taste of the reindeer meat! Perhaps it's the warmth of the people that can get them through the cold.
