이태백. '이십대 태반이 백수'라는 자조섞인 신조어가 더 이상 새롭지 않을 만큼 오늘날 우리 사회엔 백수가 넘쳐납니다. 게다가 요즘은 사회적 정년이 빨라지면서 중년 백수, 장년 백수도 사회적 문제가 되고 있습니다. 수명은 늘어가는데 경제활동을 할 수 있는 시간은 줄어들고... 사람들의 마음엔 그림자가 드리워집니다. 그렇지만 생각을 조금만 바꿔보면 '백수'는 삶의 새로운 형식을 창안할 수 있는 21세기적 존재 형식일 수 있습니다. 삶을 관조하는 한량이자 '백수'였던 공자 부처 노자 연암과 다산 등의 과거 인물을 통해 21세기를 살아가는 '백수'의 대처 자세를 생각해봅니다.

''Lee, Tae Baek'. Like he newly-coined word 'self-help' which isn't new any more, these days, our society is flooded with the unemployed. In addition, even though the social retirement age gets lower, middle-aged unemployed men and young men in their prime, have been a social issue. The life span gets longer though the time for economic activity gets shorter. A shadow is cast over people's minds. However, when we change your thoughts a little, "unemployed" can be the 21st century's form of existence that is able to create the new form of life. Let's think about the definition of "unemployed" through the historical figures, Confucius, Buddha, Lao-tzu, Yeonam and Dansan contemplating about life and enjoying their life without a job.

「イテベッ」(20代のほとんどが失業者)という冗談交じりの新造語がよく聞かれるほど韓国社会には失業者があふれています。しかも最近は社会的に希望退職が多くなり中年の失業者も社会問題になっています。寿命が延びているのに経済活動ができる時間は短くなっています。しかし考えを少し変えれば失業者は人生の新たなスタイルを創案できる21世紀的な存在スタイルなのかもしれません。人生を冷静に観察する失業者だった孔子や釈迦や老子や丁若鏞などの歴史上の人物をとおして21世紀を生きていく失業者の態度を考えてみます。
