One prehistoric snake - Titanoboa - has famously gone down in history within the fossil record by being one of the most spectacular and intimidating non dinosaurian ancient animals. You might be surprised to learn, however, that Titanoboa was not the longest snake to have lived on our planet - today, we will be meeting an animal that managed to attain an even greater length - Vasuki indicus, a truly huge madtsoiidae snake from the Middle Eocene of India.
In this video, we will be examining how this animal might have lived and how it was discovered before meeting a series of other prehistoric snakes that rivalled Titanoboa in terms of size and status.
