Both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches have traditionally taught that outside the church there is no salvation -- and they've taught this for good reason. You can find this doctrine all over the writings of the Fathers.
Simultaneously, many of us squirm at this doctrine today. We're not alone in that. And I think we have good reason for this as well.
So, in this video I present the history of the doctrine, my argument for there being a substantial change in Catholic teaching on the doctrine, and my alternative for how salvation and the church relate.
