▶Craftsman Profile
Kyo-yuzen Studio Kimura Sensho
Kyo-yuzen Studio Kimura Sensho was founded in 1946, shortly after World War II, in the heart of Kyoto, south of the Imperial Palace, with the aim of creating hand-painted Kyo-yuzen kimonos.
The role of a sensho is to conceive kimono designs and colors, oversee the entire production process, and create kimonos as desired. Kimura has been engaged in this craft for more than 70 years.
While preserving the dyeing techniques and cultural patterns passed down through generations, Kimura has also incorporated modern dyeing and decorative techniques, continuing the traditional kimono-making craftsmanship of Kyoto artisans.
▶Craftsman Passion
A One-of-a-Kind Masterpiece

At Kyo-yuzen Studio Kimura Sensho, we are committed to carefully dyeing each one-of-a-kind masterpiece with the impeccable skill of Kyoto artisans, tailoring it to the unique sensibilities of each individual.
