Watch in High Quality! Watch the morning routine of pulling the train out of the yard and onto the Mainline at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum. The Museum is located in Campo, California; about a hour's drive from San Diego. The locomotive is a former Cotton Belt GP9. The locomotive was repainted into Southern Pacific Black Widow Colors. The locomotive, SP 3873, is used to pull the museum's weekend trips from the historic Campo depot to the Mexican Border Tunnel at division. It is coupled to two pullman cars. More information on the Museum, the Museum's fleet, as well as ticket sales can be found at http://www.psrm.org/. This Video shows the ride from Campo Yard Track 1 to Campo Junction aboard SP 3873; the PSRM's GP9. After the train is serviced and readied to start the day's run, it must first be pulled out of the PSRM's yard and onto the mainline at Campo Junction. After the train pulls onto the main, the speeder runs out in front of it in order to go ahead of the train to open the border gate. This part shows the trip from the yard onto the mainline. The next part shows the ride from Campo Junction to Campo Depot. Thanks to Jack (2353Engineer) for the useful information on this locomotive and the passenger cars. Note: I filmed this series with special permission from the museum. I filmed the video entirely on behalf of the museum. Please do not harass the museum employees to allow you to film videos like this. Cab rides to Division on this locomotive are available for $35, but the trip from the yard to the depot is not open to the public. Watch for more videos from the museum including the cabride to Campo and Division, plus a speeder ride to Division. Enjoy!
