1. The wind deflector along the whole southern length of the roof deflects the wind (predominant wind direction from NE) over the southern wall elevation to scour snow away from the immediate footprint of the building.
2. Though the BAS station at Rothera is referred to as a base, it is in fact a station.
3. The Discovery Building has 76 anchors and is oriented along its longest length from east to west.
4. The Discovery Building will open in April 2025.
