The Sierra High Route is a 200 mile off-trail route running South to North along the Sierra Crest in California. It parallels the John Muir Trail, but stays mostly above treeline and covers more rugged terrain. It is the brainchild of Steve Roper, and relatively few people have completed it, especially in winter.
Sachin Sawant, Matt Fox, and Aaron Johnson skied the entire route in April of 2019.
