Today we look at the incredibly rare V2000 format stereo 2x8 Siemens FM 429 which is a re-badged Grundig 2280a. Very few V2000 machines support the Long Play (XP Play as it was known) recording speed, and even fewer are stereo, then even fewer get the Siemens re-badged treatment. How this even got into the UK is an unknown. It's been stored for 15 years since it was last worked on, sometimes in poor conditions. Let's start by preparation for a repair job, but fixing some of the obvious issues. Try to get as far as the first power-up.
