In this video, I bring up my song The Rule on two SSL Big Six desks and walk you through my hybrid mixing process using gear from SSL, Black Lion Audio, Warm Audio, and more. I tried a different outboard setup than usual, and after some tweaking, I found the right compressor to help the snare cut through the mix.
Recorded at Rogue Studios (Germany) in 2013, this track features Andres Luengo (drums), Ricky Howard (bass & BVs), Jason Sawford (Hammond & synth), Dean Howard (guitars), and myself on guitar & lead vocals.
