Let's take another dive into the "archives" and look at another batch of SD60-led trains around Macon, Georgia! These units are some of my all-time favorites and were used almost exclusively in the Macon area in the final days of their service on Norfolk Southern before being retired, sold, or rebuilt in the SD60E program (yuck). These standard cab brutes were seen on all types of freights, including intermodal and unit grain trains, but most frequently were seen on locals and unit rock trains. Often paired up together (or even tripled up in rare occasions) or with SD40-2s, these lashups always put on a good show hauling freight across the region.
