1. The walk is as important as work.
Better follower than a leader. Better husband than a speaker.
Identity comes from worship, not work.
“Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,” 1 Corinthians 3vs12
Christians build their life on Christ with two types of materials: fireproofed or flammable.
Wood, hay, and straw are found on the ground.
Gold, silver, and precious stone are found underground.
Wood, hay, and straw are found in large quantities.
Gold, silver, and precious stone are found in small quantities.
Wood, hay, and straw are cheap.
Gold, silver, and precious stone are expensive.
Wood, hay, and straw are common.
Gold, silver, and precious stone are rare.
Wood, hay, and straw are destroyed by fire.
Gold, silver, and precious stone are purified by fire.
2. Discover the win that God decided.
God defines our win. We discover it.
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12vs1-2
I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do…I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. John 17vs4, 6
Jesus lived for Father’s glory.
Jesus finished the work Father gave him. (My work can be done, but God’s work continues)

3. Abiding leads to abounding. (Fruitful in every good work)
We are human beings, not human doings.
Fruit comes from abiding.
Martyr Model (1-2nd century): believers eaten by wild beasts in the arena
Monk Model (3rd century): believers running from the world to be in a desert
Wisdom from Wilderness: Flee the World, Be Silent, Pray
So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. Luke 5vs16
Live as a monk in a marketplace. Go deep to live wide.
Without abiding, we are:
* Dying on the inside.
* Starving those close by.
* Grieving the Holy Spirit.
