Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Welcome to CRIMSON GUITARS HQ https://www.crimsonguitars.com/ In this episode of Luthier's Tips, Tools & Training, Ben is looking at a guitar that he first worked on in 2020/21. He did some weight relief experimentation in this video - https://youtu.be/okUFy1ssy0c In this episode Ben shows his tried and true technique of applying the Penetrating Guitar Finishing Oil using wet & dry sandpaper, and fret polishing rubbers (really!). You can build up to an almost professional standard gloss finish using a combination of these techniques and the High Build Finishing oil at the end. This guitar could be YOURS! - https://dailyguitardraw.com/product/crimson-elm-descendant-ben-crowe-masterbuild-600/ From September 27th there will be an End of Summer Sale at https://www.crimsonguitars.com/ with up to 20% off site wide. Every £10 spent will get you a coupon for a Free Entry to possibly win this very guitar! Chapters: 0:00 A look back to this 2021 build 0:40 Welcome to Luthier's Tips, Tools & Training 3:00 Guitar Finishing Oil and how to apply it 3:42 Warning - Do NOT use this particular application process if your guitar is stained! 4:15 The process - Do's & Don'ts 6:00 This wood has been sealed first with Shellac 7:03 Gloves are highly recommended & shake the bottle 7:24 Strong tissue paper folded into a pad like 'tool' applicator 8:10 Apply either with the paper, or by pouring generously for the initial coat 9:54 Work in a well ventilated area! And you CAN apply multiple coats in one go 10:58 Using wet & dry sandpaper ONLY on guitars without stain 11:55 Why? It is another way of sealing open grain and creating a gloss finish 13:51 Apply more oil to reinvigorate the previous coat that is starting to cure 15:00 Leaving it to cure after buffing away the excess 15:54 Beware of drips down the side and back of the instrument 17:18 DISPOSE of the Tissue/rags CORRECTLY - potential combustion hazard 18:05 Applying oil to the back and sides - weather affects curing time 19:51 Makes sure there are no drips before leaving it to cure 21:00 After 2 days of applying more coats and moving on to High Build Oil 21:51 Using a Super Fine fret polishing rubber to get rid of fine scratches from sand paper 26:36 Buffing off the rubber residue with clean tissue paper 27:36 Final coat of High Build Guitar Finishing Oil 29:45 This guitar could be YOURS! 31:41 Conclusion & recap Check out our Discord server for Guitar Building Goodness here https://discord.gg/N82ZFTzAJ6 Join this channel to get access to the perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdD1Cqxr8aINzWs1agg3tEQ/join Ben's camera setup includes: the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro, Prime Cameras (Front facing and over the bench) Canon EOS 250D, suspended from the ceiling (bench side) Canon EOS 90D, and on the movable tripod a Canon M6 Mark II Any music used in this video from Epidemic Sound - https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/31qosr/ ___________________________________________________________________________________ WEBSITE: http://www.crimsonguitars.com DAILY GUITAR DRAW: https://dailyguitardraw.com/ DAILY GUITAR DRAW ON YOUTUBE: https://bit.ly/3gQmul1 DORSET GUITAR MUSEUM: https://dorsetguitarmuseum.com/ GREAT GUITAR BUILD OFF: https://greatguitarbuildoff.com/ VINTAGE TOOL SHOP: https://bit.ly/3oA8uQK LUTHIER'S TOOLS & SUPPLIES: http://bit.ly/LuthTools GUITAR BUILDING COURSES: http://bit.ly/LuthierySchool ___________________________________________________________________________________ SOCIAL Linktree - https://linktr.ee/crimsoncustomguitars Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/crimsonguitars/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/CrimsonCustomGuitars/ Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/crimsonguitars ___________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you again for all your support, we really, really appreciate it! – Ben Stay tuned and stay awesome! ___________________________________________________________________________________
