In the Philippine jungle, a lone Japanese lieutenant is poised for battle. His finger rests steadily on the trigger of his Arisaka Type 99 rifle, meticulously maintained despite the constant humidity. As he listens carefully for any sign of enemy patrols, he glances at his ammunition. 500 rounds remain - more than enough to continue the fight.

Though some time has passed, the lieutenant recalls his orders as if they were given to him yesterday. He is to continue guerrilla operations on Lubang island until the Imperial Army returns. Most importantly, he is never to surrender or take his own life.

Suddenly, his keen ears detect movement nearby. Someone is approaching - moving carelessly, like no soldier he’s ever encountered. Up ahead, he sees a young man with shaggy hair and a most peculiar dress sense - and he’s coming right towards him. After all this time, surely this is another Allied trap…
