In the 1940 film "The Son of Monte Cristo," directed by Rowland V. Lee and starring Louis Hayward, Joan Bennett, and George Sanders, the story unfolds in 1865 in the Balkans' fictional nation of Lichtenburg. General Gurko Lanen holds dictatorial power, while the rightful ruler, Zona, seeks aid from Napoleon III of France. The Count of Monte Cristo, visiting Lichtenburg, becomes enamored with Zona and commits to assisting her cause. Adopting disguises as a foppish banker and a masked freedom fighter, he engages in rapid-fire intrigue and derring-do to bring justice and restore Zona to her rightful place as ruler.
This movie took 9 hours to convert to colour at 4K resolution. I hope you enjoy the end result!
