Opening a computer repair shop inside of a Subway in 2015 was the scariest and most successful decision I've ever made. This video gives a rundown of the decisions, obstacles, and evolution of Salem Techsperts, my computer repair shop.
A few things I forgot to mention in the video!
- I HAVE NO FORMAL EDUCATION. Everything is self taught thanks to YouTube, Google, and hands-on with a screwdriver.
- The fully enclosed wall happened when Subway renovated in November 2023. George insulated and covered the wall that they left exposed and unfinished.
- In 2022 when the writing on the wall re: this industry became obvious, I started transitioning to become an MSP and took on a few business clients. This is where all general break/fix shops end up and I highly advise anyone still doing the break/fix model to do so.
