One of the great masterpieces of the repertoire of domestic dramas adapted from the bunraku puppet theatre, Natsu Matsuri Naniwa Kagami ("The Summer Festival, A Mirror of Naniwa") was written in 1745, by the same group of playwrights who wrote Sugawara Denju Tenarai Kagami, Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura and Kanadehon Chūshingura.
