The Tour Aotearoa continues with one of the most incredible sections so far—the Timber Trail. The trail follows old logging tramways and tracks through Pureora Forest Park, this off-road route takes us through dense rainforest, wide open landscapes, and across massive suspended rope bridges spanning deep valleys. For most riders, these bridges are a highlight, but for me… not so much! With high rope bridges being one fear in life, crossing them on a loaded bike was definitely an experience.
This stretch wasn’t without challenges—on the first day, I ran into two mechanical issues, but with some help from kind locals I was able to get back on the trail without too much of a delay. The ride also threw every kind of weather at us, from sunshine to torrential rain, but through it all, the Timber Trail delivered breath-taking views and unforgettable riding.
If you would like to follow along please make sure to subscribe and hit the bell, I will hopefully be releasing episodes regularly throughout the tour.
Thank you for watching.
