This is “just” my personal top 10 of the best zoos in Europe.
There are so many great zoos, wildlife parks, aquariums and safari parks in Europe. And there are numerous top lists that claim to rank the very best zoos in Europe or the whole world... yet very few authors have actually visited all of these zoos themselves.
And that's why this list is different! Over the past four years I have visited over 150 zoo all over Europe, so I can tell you my actual favorites.
Therefore there are certainly some really good zoos missing that I haven't made it to yet - and of course taste is always debatable. But at least this list is actually based on a reasonably well-founded assessment and not just on things like the number of animal species kept, the size and the average ratings on travel portals.
