In this video, we are going to take a look at what the average German soldier could expect to encounter if he had been taken prisoner by the American forces in World War 2. Prisoners were treated very differently depending on which nation was the captor. Fortunately for the Germans, the Americans were one of the most generous captors of POWs in the war. We are going to examine what major challenges captured Germans faced, what their living conditions were like, and how Germans were transported to the American homeland.
