Have you ever wanted to disappear for a while and come back as the upgraded, effortlessly cool version of yourself? Yeah, me too. I spent years chasing reinvention—changing my hair, my hobbies, my entire personality—only to realize that no one really noticed (or cared). Which was… humbling.
The thing is, we’ve all been sold this idea that reinvention is supposed to be dramatic. That one day, we’ll return from a metaphorical (or literal) sabbatical looking radiant, mysterious, and suspiciously well-rested. People will gasp. Exes will spiral. Strangers will assume we own multiple sets of matching pajamas.
But in reality? Reinvention is usually just a series of questionable purchases, a brief but passionate commitment to a new identity (roller skater? Italian speaker? Person who understands skincare?), and the slow realization that no one is paying as much attention to us as we thought.
So this is about that. The failed glow-ups. The false starts. The fantasy of becoming unrecognizable—and the much funnier reality of just… still being you. Only maybe with slightly better jeans.

ABOUT ME:
Hi! 🙋🏼♀️
I’m Ash – a writer, content creator, and movie lover with a penchant for the nostalgic. I spend more time talking to my dog than actual humans, and when I’m not arguing with fictional characters, my days are spent writing endless drafts or down movie-related rabbit holes. In this little corner of the internet, I share my love for storytelling, the ups and downs of my creative process, and the sometimes ridiculous, often relatable moments that come with being a 30-something and not having it all figured out.
