The fall of the Berlin Wall - which divided the city from 1961 to 1989 - is considered one of the greatest geopolitical events of the 20th century. Both the building and the tearing down of the Berlin Wall had a huge impact on the lives of generations of people.
BBC Russian Service reporters Andrei Kozenko, Tatiana Preobrazhenskaya and Maxim Lomakin travelled to Berlin to document the personal accounts of five people who lived on both sides of the Berlin Wall.
