In the 1860s, a bold attempt was made to connect Waterloo station to Whitehall- specifically Great Scotland Yard- via a pneumatic railway, dug deep beneath the River Thames...
Although this project, which was dubbed the 'Waterloo & Whitehall Railway', would ultimately fail, its story is an intriguing one, and in this video I would like share its history with you.
