hey guys! your reaction to the who a while back got me thinking and laughing about an appearance they made on the old ed sullivan show back in the 60's when they were just starting out. this is a clip of them playing their hit "my generation", but what made the who stand out from other bands was they would completely destroy their instruments and the stage at the end of their set.. but what really made them stand out was keith moon their drummer, who most would agree was several sandwiches short of a picnic. well, breaking his drumset that night i guess wasn't good enough, so he had his drum techs load his drums with explosives! i think you guys get where i'm going with this..! Also quick note - they played a gig in 1973 a few years later at the cow palace in san francisco and while drumming keith passed out completely.. you can even hear his head hit the cymbals as he fell forward.. he was high on of all things - horse tranquilizers! roadies carried him off backstage and pete townsend the guitarist asked if anyone in the crowd could play drums and one fan came onstage and played for them rest of the night!
