Donald Trump's mother, Mary Trump, was a Scottish immigrant in the U.S. following the Great Depression. With just $50 in her pocket, Mary made a name for herself in New York City by marrying successful real estate investor Frederick C. Trump. Although Mary and her son had a close relationship, Donald never mentioned his mother's emigration, or even his own Scottish roots, on his campaign website for the Presidency. Today, Mary is buried in a cemetery in Queens, NY, where more than one third of residents are foreign-born.
