Join Donna Downey and Sally Lynn MacDonald for another episode of #thecolorcollab. We are having a threesome this month. Actually a Triad. The word triad refers to a few concepts: 1) a mixing triad; where all of the colors in a painting are mixed from these three colors. Primary Cyan, Magenta and Yellow are a mixing triad, for example. 2) The triadic color harmony groups three colors that are evenly spaced from another and form a triangle on the color wheel. And just using three colors to fit the 'place' on the RYB arrangement and expand your artistic horizons. This arrangement tends to have very vibrant contrast, although not as much as the complementary harmony. It works best if you let one color be more dominant than the other two. Join us for a discussion on all things Triadic this month!
