Theeyalpodi
Ingredients
1. Grated coconut – ¾ kg (3 nos) /7 to 7 ½ cup
2. Chopped shallots – 1 cup
3. Chilli powder- ½ cup
4. Coriander powder – ¼ cup
5. Curry leaves (Opt) – ½ cup
Preparation
1. Heat slowly the coconut & shallots, in a thick bottomed broad vessel, stirring.
2. It slowly gets sautéed & becomes yellowish, slowly becoming red & brownish.
3. Add chilli powder & coriander powder & stir well 3 to 4 minutes or till done.
4. Remove, cool keeping stirred. When cool, store in the fridge. Shelf life 3 to 4 months.
