Everyone has a unique idea about what Christmas means to them, what certain things make Christmas special. For me, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this, one of my favourite things about Christmas when I was growing up was watching the Christmas special edition of the fantastic comedy Only Fools and Horses with my Dad. I'm a big fan of the show. I think it's the best British TV show ever made! It reminds me of a time in Britain when I think things were simpler, more relaxed and more fun! Thinking about Only Fools and Horses got me speculating about the main character Del Boy. He is everyone's favourite wheeler dealer - a chancer and a charmer. A textbook London market trader and loveable out-of-luck friend of the nation! The character is iconic, but does a real-life Del Boy still exist in London these days? After all.. life and culture are very different now!
So I set out about London. From Acton, to Islington, to Peckham. Can I really find a real-life Del Boy in the capital in 2024? Join me to find out!
