Call-centre slavery, scams, ghost towers, muggings - so many troubles have beset this idyllic coastal town over the years. Once so popular on the backpacker trail boasting many lovely beaches of its own, & with its gorgeous islands nearby, it was almost taken over by Chinese money & turned into a dodgy casino crime ridden hotspot. The roads were all ripped up, & the foreigners all left apart from those Chinese involved in gambling & call centers. But the government took notice & cracked down hard on crime & got the streets fixed up. It's a new era in Sihanoukville. Join me in this episode of Seeker of the Way as we see what is left of the good old days, if the bad old days have finished, & what direction this prime spot along the Cambodian riviera is heading.
