In this weeks podcast, I talk about the state of the channel again and what to expect going forward. Largely I'm returning to my previous 1.5 videos a week posting schedule. As much as I'd like to post more, and tick of more of the content that's sitting on my to do list, the realities of working as a solo creator and focusing on technical content that involves a lot fo testing and means that pushing the pace is resulting in my rushing and making minor errors that I'd prefer not to. So back to something I can manage.
I also talk about Canon's newly announced RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM lens. A small light weight budget sensitive yet fast general purpose zoom. A lens that I think will make a lot of sense for a lot of people, but more importantly for this discussion a lens that I think is more reflective of what we should be seeing in mid- or at least just above bottom tier lenses for ILC systems. The reality is smartphones have killed ILCs for all but the series photographer, and I think cameras and lenses need to start reflecting that reality.
