I came across a unique vintage petrol lighter made in England around 1930. It was in very poor condition — covered in thick patina, with broken parts and completely non-functional. After years of gathering dust on a shelf, it was finally time to bring it back to life. This restoration turned out to be a long and meticulous process, full of unexpected challenges. I completely disassembled the lighter down to the last screw, carefully cleaned every part down to bare metal, polished it, and re-plated it with shiny nickel. Several broken components had to be repaired and soldered by hand. Despite the difficulties, I was able to restore both its original shine and its spark. In this video, you'll see the entire restoration process: teardown, cleaning, soldering, polishing, nickel plating, and final assembly. This is a true full-scale restoration of a vintage mechanism with history and character.
