Today we experienced Mexico's national sport charreria here in Tonala on the outskirts of Guadalajara, Mexico.
We paid our 50 pesos entry, headed in, grabbed ourselves a cheeky michelada and bagged some front row seats ready for the show.
After seeing us cluelessly spectating local lad Mateo and dad Ricardo invited us over and took us under their wing. We had a fantastic time soaking up the small town event and being amazed at the skills of the charros.
I somehow ended up riding a horse myself and might just become a cowboy now...
Our new friends then took us back into the stables for a look at all the horses then we partied the night away with copious amounts of tequila, ey I guess when in Jalisco why not.
Once finally back in Guadalajara we went for some greasy late night tacos which proper hit the spot.
We did actually try to visit a bull riding event today but it's clear that we went to the wrong place for a reason, it was meant to be.
Mexican culture is incredible 🇲🇽
