#minipc #pcbuild #asuspcdiy - Following on from the previous lunchbox build in the smaller S300 case, it felt like perfectly appropriate to explore the larger, yet still impossibly small version... Let's get stuck in with the MiniNeo / Shiny Snake / KXRORS S400! Timecodes, though I don't recommend skipping for visual narrative reasons! 00:00 - How Did We Get Here? 01:08 - S400 Overview 01:54 - Build Hardware 02:27 - Motherboard Assembly 04:35 - S400 Assembly 06:27 - Making The Impossible, Possible. 08:24 - Airflow Visual & Sound Levels 09:20 - Cinematic & Desk Setup 11:24 - Coffee Thanks & Bloopers When it comes to building Mini ITX systems, it's easy to get carried away with installing hardware which is simply overpowered for the case the size. With this build however, I wanted to keep the hardware fair, whilst also pushing the boundaries for the general GPU size. MiniNeo / Shiny Snake make bold claims that the case supports GPU's up to 335mm, and whilst it is technically possible, it's just not that simple. The TUF Gaming RTX 5070 OC shouldn't technically fit, though it does fall within the allowed dimensions. However, some fettling and cautious case bending allowed it! I Purchased the S400 which came with a GEN4 Riser cable. We did include this during the build stages of the video, but even though we set the BIOS to PCIE Gen 4 (and later Gen 3) the screen tearing issues kept happening so we replaced the riser for a completely different brand. I can't say if this issue is ongoing with riser cables included with the S400 or if the one I purchased was faulty, so I would proceed with that in mind should you wish to replicate the build. Quirks aside, the S400 was a stressful but very rewarding building experience and the final result looks absolutely amazing. Not one for beginners, but certainly one for those looking for a Mini ITX challenege! Read our full thoughts on this build here: What's your thoughts?
